About NCSC

The National Children's Science Congress (NCSC) is a platform for children in the age group of 10 to 17 years (both from formal school systems and out-of-school) to exhibit their creativity, innovativeness, and capability to solve societal problems using scientific methods.

Initiated in 1993, this program aims to encourage children to explore their immediate environment, identify local problems, and look for scientific solutions. Rather than emphasizing heavy theoretical models, NCSC focuses on simple, inquiry-driven local research project work.

The program helps children connect science to their everyday lives. By undertaking research projects in groups of two, kids learn the fundamentals of teamwork, survey design, data collection, hypothesis testing, and oral presentation. It provides an opportunity to interact with senior scientists, university professors, and peer researchers during district and state-level congresses.

In Bihar, Science For Society (SFS) has served as the official nodal agency, coordinating training workshops for teachers, distributing guidebooks to rural schools, and organizing evaluations that feed into the national congress where selected young researchers represent Bihar on the national stage.

Who Can Participate?

For children with disabilities, their educational level or mental development will be taken into consideration.

Age will be calculated as of 31 December 2026. In a group, each member’s date of birth should fall between 31 December 2009 and 31 December 2016. Participants in the higher category should generally be above 14 years of age.

Any child can participate regardless of language, educational background, whether they attend school or not, and whether they come from a rural or urban area. Priority will be given equally to both rural and urban participants.

प्रतिभागी कौन हो सकता है ?

दिव्यांग बच्चे के संदर्भ में उनके शिक्षा का स्तर या मानसिक विकास को ध्यान में रखा जायेगा।

आयु का आकलन 31 दिसम्बर, 2026 के अनुसार किया जाएगा अथवा समूह को किसी भी सदस्य की जन्म तिथि 31 दिसम्बर, 2009 से 31 दिसम्बर, 2016 तक होनी चाहिए। उनका आयु वर्ग के समूह के किसी भी बच्चे का उम्र 14 वर्ष से अधिक होनी चाहिए। उच्च स्तर : उच्च आयु वर्ग में सभी प्रतिभागी होंगे।

कोई भी बच्चा चाहे वह किसी भाषा, शैक्षिक पृष्ठभूमि का हो, स्कूल जाता हो अथवा नहीं, प्राथमिकता का क्षेत्र – ग्रामीण या शहरी – भाग ले सकता है।
